The best things to do in Cadiz, in the summer

Cadiz is a beautiful Andalusian city located in the south of Spain, which we recommend that you visit, at least once in your life. It is a place where many yacht captains choose to stop at and visit because it has great gastronomy, entertainment and port infrastructure.  In this post, we list some of the best things to do in Cadiz, in the summer.

1- Enjoy a sunset on the beach of La Caleta

A 450-meter beach where boats can dock. It has a great views at sunset.

2- Visit the Cathedral

The mixture of barroque and neoclassical architectural styles make this cathedral a worthwhile site to see, even though it may not be one of the largest in Spain.

3- Torre Tavira

Another interesting place in Cádiz and where you can enjoy great views of the city, is the tower of Tavira.  It is one of the highest points in the city and offers spectacular views.

4- The fortress of Santa Catalina

Very close to the Caleta beach, the castle of Santa Catalina was built in the 16th century and has a beautiful panoramic view of the beach and the coast. It can be accessed for free.

5- Stroll through the neighborhood of La Viña

Known as "the heart of Cádiz", this was the old fishing area. It has narrow streets, many restaurant/bars to enjoy a meal and to discover its special nooks and crannies.

Lamaignere Shipping has its own office in Cádiz, from which it coordinates the activities of many yachts and megayachts that arrive into this area of Spain.
